As of August 14th 2024 the FANGRAPHS website is showing that their calculations indicate the Dbacks are on course to get 90 wins this season. In 2023, the Dbacks were the "boys of spring" and they were on pace for 89 wins for a short time, then cooled off during the summer. I'll call the 2024 Dbacks the "boys of summer" since they really took off after the end of spring.
Briefly in 2022 the Dbacks were given a 2 or 3 percent chance of getting a wildcard slot. This year, the Dbacks are now at a greater than 80% chance of getting a wildcard playoff ticket. In 2023, the Dbacks did not get above an 80% chance of a wildcard until September 20th.
